Through its <em>Omnibus package<\/em> and the recently adopted <em>\u201cStop the clock\u201d directive<\/em>, the EU has signalled a shift toward simplification, postponement, and recalibration of obligations for companies across Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Two-Year Postponement: \u201cStop the Clock\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>The EU has formally delayed mandatory ESRS and EU Taxonomy reporting for second- and third-wave companies by two years. Member states must transpose the directive into national law by 31 December 2025. This provides businesses with breathing space as negotiations continue on the broader Omnibus reforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Key Highlights of the Omnibus Package<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>The Omnibus package, released earlier in 2025, aims to reduce compliance burdens while maintaining the spirit of the EU Green Deal.
