ESG Reporting Update

Dezember 24, 2024

Today’s article aims to update on the most recent developments regarding norms and software that can be used while reporting ESG, CSRD.

Normative Launches Comprehensive CSRD Support to Simplify Sustainability Compliance

Carbon accounting software provider Normative has unveiled a new offering designed to help businesses meet the stringent requirements of the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The directive represents a transformative update to the EU’s sustainability reporting framework, extending disclosure obligations from approximately 12,000 to over 50,000 companies.

Underpinned by the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the CSRD mandates more detailed disclosures on companies’ environmental impacts, human rights practices, social standards, and sustainability-related risks. The directive aims to foster transparency and accountability, presenting businesses with both challenges and opportunities to align with evolving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) expectations.

Supporting Businesses Through Complexity

Normative’s new CSRD-focused solution is tailored to meet these escalating compliance demands. It integrates the expertise of GHG-protocol certified Climate Strategy Advisors with the company’s AI-powered carbon accounting platform. Key features include:

  • Simplified data collection through AI-assisted carbon calculations.
  • Expert advisory support to navigate compliance challenges.
  • Reduction planning to identify energy-saving measures and cost-cutting opportunities.

The solution arrives as companies across the EU and UK face heightened ESG regulatory pressures. A recent Normative survey revealed that 82% of sustainability decision-makers expect compliance importance to grow within their organizations, yet 53% cite gaps in regulatory knowledge and ESG frameworks as significant hurdles.

A Path Forward

As sustainability becomes increasingly central to business operations, Normative’s initiative is poised to play a crucial role in enabling organizations to align with regulatory standards while uncovering pathways for long-term growth and environmental impact reduction. With its comprehensive approach, Normative is set to empower businesses to turn compliance into a strategic advantage.
